Since the launch of the Alliances in 2016, the ever-increasing reliance on technology and the rapid expansion of the digital landscape have created a critical skill shortage in the field of cybersecurity. Organizations across various industries are struggling to find qualified professionals who possess the necessary expertise to protect their sensitive information and networks from cyber threats. The demand for skilled cybersecurity specialists far exceeds the available supply, leading to increased vulnerability and potential breaches. This shortage can be attributed to the complex and ever-evolving nature of cyber threats, as well as the lack of educational programs and industry standards to meet the growing demand. Addressing this skill shortage requires a collaborative effort from academia, industry, and governments to invest in comprehensive training programs, incentivize cybersecurity careers, and promote knowledge sharing to safeguard our digital infrastructure.
This problem statement amongst many other is the causality behind the Alliances Projects – Community Development arm of the Alliances Platform.
